BRASSTOWN BALD

Brasstown Bald, the highest mountain in Georgia, rises 4,784 feet above sea level.  At the top, with a 360 degree view on the observation deck, on a clear day, you can see 3 other states: Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina.   The Visitor's Center is located on the summit of Brasstown Bald where visitors can view exhibits, movies and interpretive programs.

The .6 mile paved trail to the summit and Visitor Center is steep and invigorating but, for a fee, there is a shuttle bus from the parking lot to the summit if you wish to ride.  Longer hiking trails are also available on the mountain.
Brasstown Bald is open daily from Memorial Day through October and open on weekends in the early spring and late fall depending upon the weather, of course.
